Origin
The comparison problem.
Candor started with a simple observation: retail price rarely tells the full story.
I've always been someone who looked at beauty products through a data lens: comparing sizes, formats, and price per ounce almost instinctively. But after posting a video analyzing foundation sticks, I realized other people were looking for the same kind of context too.
People began asking for more categories. More comparisons. More ways to understand how products were positioned across brands and tiers. Some people said they were using the data to shop differently.
What started as a series of beauty breakdowns became something larger: a way to make beauty pricing more transparent, comparable, and easier to explore in one place.
The founder
Built by someone who has always believed beauty deserves better data.
Candor was created by Kere, an analyst and longtime beauty enthusiast who spent years working in data and consumer platforms before bringing that same curiosity to the beauty industry.

Philosophy
Data doesn't replace taste. It informs it.
Candor is not anti-luxury. It is not pro-drugstore.
Price is not the only thing that matters. A product can be worth every dollar of its markup if the formulation justifies it, if the ritual of using it adds something to your day, if it genuinely performs differently than its alternatives.
Expensive is not the same as overpriced. Cheap is not the same as good value. Context matters enormously, and Candor is built to provide it.
